1. Scope and data controller
This Privacy Policy applies to the Snowey mobile application, the website at snowey.pl, and related support and online services (together, the “Service”).
The operator of Snowey is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].

- Live or recent location when you actively enable a sharing feature.
- Messages and content you send through group or social features.
Optional health or fitness information
If you choose to connect a supported health or fitness service, Snowey may read or write the specific activity data you authorize. This access is optional and controlled through the connected service and your device settings.
Device, diagnostics and usage information
- Device model, operating system, app version, language and technical identifiers.
- Feature interactions, performance information, crash reports and diagnostic logs.
- Notification tokens and permission status where needed to deliver requested features.
Communications
We process information contained in support requests, feedback, emails and other communications you send to us.
3. Why we process information
Depending on the feature and applicable law, processing may be necessary to perform our agreement with you, based on your consent, required by law, or based on legitimate interests such as keeping the Service secure and improving reliability.
- Provide the Service: create and manage accounts, record sessions, calculate statistics, display maps and save preferences.
- Enable social features: connect friends, run group sessions, show leaderboards and deliver messages or live-sharing features you choose to use.
- Maintain and improve Snowey: troubleshoot problems, monitor performance, understand feature usage and develop improvements.
- Protect users and the Service: prevent abuse, investigate security incidents and enforce applicable rules.
- Communicate with you: reply to support requests and send important service or account notices.
- Meet legal obligations: respond to valid legal requests and comply with applicable law.
Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent through the app, your device settings, the connected service, or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before consent was withdrawn.
4. Location data and live sharing
Snowey uses location to record routes and calculate ski or snowboard session information. Foreground location may be used while the app is open. Background location may be used while an active tracking feature is running, where you have granted the required permission.
Live location is not intended to be public by default. When you enable live sharing, selected friends or group members may see your current or recent location and related status. You can stop sharing, leave a group or change permissions at any time.
Disabling location permission will prevent or limit tracking, live maps, route recording and other location-based features.
Safety notice: Snowey is not an emergency, rescue or safety-monitoring service. Location can be delayed, inaccurate or unavailable because of terrain, weather, battery, connectivity or device settings.
5. When information may be shared
We do not sell personal data. Information may be shared only as described below:
- With people you choose: profile, leaderboard, group, message, session or live-location information may be visible according to the sharing features and settings you use.
- With service providers: companies that provide infrastructure such as hosting, databases, authentication, maps, storage, notifications, diagnostics, analytics or email support may process data on our behalf.
- For legal and safety reasons: information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights or safety, or investigate abuse and security issues.
- Business changes: information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, subject to applicable safeguards.
Service providers may use information only to perform services for Snowey under their agreements and applicable law.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account and session history, resolve disputes, protect the Service and comply with legal obligations.
If you delete your account, associated personal data will be deleted or anonymized, subject to limited retention where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution or enforcement. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until they are overwritten through normal backup cycles.
Information that has been irreversibly anonymized and can no longer be linked to you may be retained for statistical and service-improvement purposes.
7. International data transfers
Snowey and its service providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions or approved contractual protections.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration. No internet or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for promptly contacting us if you believe your account has been compromised.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Receive certain data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise a right, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You can also use our account and data deletion page.
10. Children’s privacy
Snowey is not directed to children who cannot lawfully consent to the processing of their personal data without authorization from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in violation of applicable law.
If you believe a child has provided personal data unlawfully, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
